About BroncoBoTs

We are the BroncoBoTs...

  • We are a rookie team, but we bring experience from FIRST LEGO League, where we built problem-solving, teamwork, and iteration.
  • At the start of our season, our team converted an unused loft area above a horse stable barn sponsored by Pringle Stables.
  • We effectively used our resources, planned, prepared, and installed the flooring ourselves over the course of a few weeks.
  • Working directly above the horses created an unexpected daily connection and we viewed them as members of our team. This is why we created the name BroncoBoTs.
  • Our mentors are: Coach Teja, Coach Mathan, and Coach Sudheer
Engineering Design Process

Engineering Design Process

  • Our approach is fail-fast but agile.
  • We start with fundamentals of problem solving using the materials and knowledge we have instead of jumping into complex solutions involving machining and off the shelf solutions.
  • Meet 1 - Goal to shoot all the 3 balls while getting loaded by our human player. We designed "baby hands" that pushes the ball to the shooter wheels to shoot into the goal. But there were a lot of inefficiencies (slowing cycle time, etc).
  • After Meet 1 - With Retrospective we made two goals.
    1. To be able to shoot all three balls in 1 second.
    2. To be able to ground intake the balls one side and shoot from the opposite side to increase cycle time efficiency.
Outreach & Impact

Outreach & Impact

  • We connected with FRC Team Argos (5-time Central Illinois Regional champions). We were able to tour their Caterpillar practice facility, and gained a deeper understanding of FIRST’s impact on the STEM community.
  • We inspired our sponsor, Pringle Robotics, to donate $15,000 to Argos. We plan to collaborate with them on STEM outreach projects in the coming months.
  • Connected with Mr. Vijay, a mechanical engineer at JTec Industries, to strengthen our CAD skills.
  • Mentored FLL Team 66309 (The Artifact AvengerBoTs) and conducted mock judging sessions.
  • Grew our team from 7 to 9 members during the season.
  • Sought feedback from Mr. Joe (Head FTA) and resolved robot disconnection issues with his guidance.
